Current Programs:

New Facility

VHVnow has a new facility at 4720 Table Mesa, Suite G200, Boulder, CO. We are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Stop in to have a cup of coffee, relax, converse, read, watch TV, use computers or wi-fi, and listen to music. We can tell you about our programs, about other services in the county or arrange for you to talk to a veteran volunteer.

Veteran Volunteer Training

VHVnow offers training and twice-monthly support groups for volunteer veterans.  Licensed therapists facilitate these support groups.  (Please note that support groups for combat veterans are available at the Vet Center in Boulder County.)

One-on-one matches

When appropriate, veterans seeking services will be matched one-on-one with a volunteer veteran. Volunteer veterans are not counselors but are good listeners, can share their own story, provide referrals to various agencies, and offer support.

Referral services

Referrals to veteran services and to other general services can be provided either by the volunteer or by contacting VHVnow directly.

Support groups for women

Twice-monthly support groups are available for women veterans and females who have loved ones who are serving or who have served in the military. Licensed therapists facilitate these groups.

Support group for veteran volunteers

Twice-monthly support group for veteran volunteers.

Support group for veterans with PTSD/Addiction issues

A weekly group.

Community Service

Veterans participate in a variety of community service volunteer projects.

Boulder County Jail

Volunteer veterans visit with veteran inmates at the Boulder County Jail and provide after-release support.

Services to Homeless Veterans

Volunteer veterans strive to provide services to homeless veterans.

Future Programs

All our programs begin with quarterly input from veterans, family members, veteran service providers and community members.  As our capacity builds, we hope to collaborate with others for transitional housing for veterans and to start a for-profit business operated by veterans.

In 2010, we will be adding a support group for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, Sunday brunches, and other new programs.  Please check with us for the latest information.

Veteran volunteers do not provide diagnosis or treatment;

they are not professional counselors. They are peers who

will provide support and referrals for service.
